Fertilization & Weed Control

turfcospreaderLawn fertilization & weed control is critical for having a nice lawn. Weeds can become troublesome over time and thin out your lawn due to competition. Also a well-balanced fertility program is needed to keep your lawn thick and healthy. Some companies use a cookie cutter approach to lawn fertilizing and weed prevention. We think you deserve more than that!

We know that a program for lawn fertilization and weed control that works in one neighboring area may not be right for another. So we tailor our lawn care services to the local climate and growing conditions in your area. We also know that different people have individual preferences. That’s why we offer you choices.

Here are the key benefits of proper lawn care fertilizing and weed control:

  • Thicker, greener turf
  • Fewer weeds
  • A healthier, more attractive lawn
  • A heartier, more stress-resistant lawn

We have a Lawn-Care Program to fit your needs and budget.

Annual Lawn Fertilization Program

Step 1 Applied the second week of March through mid April and consists of a well-balanced fertilizer along with pre-emergence for crab grass control.

Step 2 Applied mid April through mid May.  Fertilizer along with broadleaf weed control will be applied at this time.  Please remember we can only control those weeds showing at the time of application.

Step 3*** Grub Control/Insect Control is applied through June, giving season-long control against grubs and the damage they cause.

Step 4 Applied mid Aug to early Oct. Fertilization will bring your lawn back to the lush green appearance that may have been lost through the stress of the long, hot summer heat. Also a broadleaf weed control will be applied at this time. Please remember we can only control those weeds showing at the time of application.

Step 5 Applied mid October to mid Dec. Fertilization will be used to prepare your lawn for the winter, which will also help for a quicker green up in the spring.

*** 406 Landscapes recommends grub control and or surface insect control on all lawns, as they can cause extensive damage in a lawn. These pests can especially wreck a lawn under drought conditions.
